About
Leederville’s First Cooking School
Since opening in 2002, Urban Provider’s Cooking Passions classes have been held in our beautiful gourmet entertaining kitchen in the heart of Leederville, overlooking our Bali-inspired garden (as featured in WA’s Homes & Living Magazine).
Cooking Passions Classes
Join an existing class (you can even request the class of your choice) on one of our scheduled dates or get a group of friends, workmates, or corporate clients together, bring along a bottle of wine and enjoy what everyone is calling the “dinner party cooking class“. Held in a TV-style gourmet kitchen in Leederville, overlooking a Bali-inspired garden, the cooking school venue plays a starring role in Cooking Passions funky cooking classes.
Who should participate – Our Cooking Passions classes cater to all types of cooking skills from Beginner Cooks that are interested in learning a few dishes to start a repertoire, to Advanced Cooks who are interested in learning new techniques, tips and recipes to add to their repertoires. Non-Cooks also enjoy attending the classes, as the classes are like going out to dinner with a complete meal of the 4 to 5 different dishes presented during the class then served, so everyone leaves full & satisfied!
Classes – Classes are limited to 10-12 people, so everyone gets a front row seat to see, smell & most importantly, eat all of the dishes presented in the classes. Whichever Passion class you would like to participate in are scheduled on request, so that any class can be booked when you like to do it; or you can join in on a class already scheduled.
Current vacancies are included on the Upcoming Classes page.
About the Chef – Nico Moretti
Nico Moretti grew up in London, Canada where his father, Vito Moretti, started the city’s first Italian restaurant in the 1950’s. With a degree in Chemical Engineering, Nico worked within the oil industry in Australia for 10 years, before leaving it all behind, to pursue his passion for food & entertaining by establishing his own cooking school – Cooking Passions – in 2002.
Cooking Passions now offers participants over 30 different cooking experiences, where they can come along and learn to prepare easy and impressive recipes to replicate at home. Classes are limited to 10-12 people to ensure that everyone can join in, ask questions, and most of all, enjoy all the dishes prepared in the session.
“I’m not a chef, but having grown up in my father’s Italian restaurant and my mother’s kitchen, food in my Italian upbringing was not only a passion, but a religion. I love food, any food and I love cooking and sharing my passion for food with other people.”
The classes are limited to 10-12 people, so everyone gets a front row seat to see, smell, & most importantly eat, all of the dishes created in the classes. “We’ve designed each of our Cooking Passions classes, so that the classes are very relaxed and social, with all our recipes incredibly simple to prepare, but designed to impress, because for me, that’s what eating and entertaining is all about – minimal effort and maximum enjoyment – shared with people you care for. People can bring along a bottle of wine; sit back, relax and enjoy a couple of hours out with friends; and leave with some easy and impressive recipes to prepare at home.”
“All of our Cooking Passions recipes have been designed so they are nice and easy to follow and prepare, and that’s the attraction for a lot of our clients – they know that when they get home they’re going to be able to do them there and have a new set or recipes to add to their current repertoire. Making it simple also helps to re-inspire people back to the kitchen (if they’d left) or to give people the confidence to say…” I can do that !”
